CMC SODIUM

CMC, or Sodium Carboxy Methyl Cellulose, is the most widely used additive for rolled fondant. Used to give FondX or Elite by FondX gum paste like qualities to be made into bows, flowers, figures, or decorative accents in order for the fondant to dry properly into the designer’s intended shapes. CMC could be used as flocculating agent, chelating agent, emulsifier, thickening agent, water-retaining agent, sizing agent, and film-forming material, and so on. CMC is also widely applied in fields such as electronics, pesticides, leather, plastics, printing, ceramics, and the daily-use chemical industry.
